One down, 14 to go

Actually, first class was great! Two students were no-shows, but the other three were lovely. It took them a while to warm up enough to participate, but by the end they were asking questions and giving feedback. I think we'll have a good semester.

It is a little nerve-wracking, though, being the primary instructor with 3 hours to fill! I hope I can do a good job of keeping them engaged ... It's tough teaching a course that's not about a discrete body of knowledge, but more about thinking and exploring. I want to make sure we build a strong enough base that they have something solid as a jumping-off point.

It's good to be teaching again; I like it.
