My best friend's girl (or boy)

That's right, everybody - my best friend is pregnant!!!!

I found out last week, but had to wait until the weekend so that her mom had a chance to share the news with other family members. I am super ecstatic, so happy for her and her husband; this is their second time trying, and I am so delighted to know that things are going well. I was also delighted to know that the baby is due on my birthday - so everybody gets a present! :-)

And even though this event is not at all about me, I did realize something else that made me very happy when she told me: I wasn't jealous at all. It's nice to feel unreservedly happy when a totally fantastic thing happens in someone else's life.
